On Christmas Day 2016 claimed another victim in the wrath of celebrity deaths, this time it was Pop Music icon George Michael.
Michael according to his closest friends and family, say the legendary pop singer was or had been battling pneumonia; the actual cause of death has yet to be determined. He died peacefully in his bed at the age of 53. The singer has had a history of health problems. In 2011 he cancelled a show in Vienna because he complained of chest pains.
Michael was best known for these songs: “Wake Me Up Before You Go Go”, “Preacher”, “Careless Whisper” “Father Figure”, “Faith”, “Freedom”, and many more. The pop star has won various music awards throughout his illustrious career. He was part of the hit duo “Wham!” which also had one of the best chart topping Christmas songs “Last Christmas”.
Throughout the 80s and early 90s it was almost impossible to walk past a magazine rack and not see Michael’s face plastered across the cover. He was a sex icon that made every man want to be him, and every woman wanting to be with him. His infectious music graced the airwaves for over 30 years and still continues to do so today.
Outside of music he was a big supporter of equality and performed numerous charity fundraisers to bring notice and funds to the causes he was passionate about.
