Jason Dowd was born in Bristol, CT in 1978. He moved to the Tampa Bay area in late 1989 and has been here ever since.
Combined, he has over 20 years in the art industry from fine art to photographic art and even video. In 2003 he started working with an internationally touring rock band and created several music videos and filmed the band on stage during CrueFest 2. In 2009 he created his world famous “Dreams, Nightmares, Fears and Fantasy” photographic collection and his work has continued to flow since. He has several pieces on display at EPCOT in Orlando, FL.
Since 2009 he also worked in the PR business. There he established himself with other top music execs and continued to push people’s stories to the world. However, he failed to do the same for himself. Finding rejection after rejection for coverage because he was new to the photographic art world in 09, and had no real backing media failed to give him the voice he needed. Had he been a seasoned celebrity that would not have been a problem.
To rectify the problem he established his own radio show and magazine called “The Expressionist”. He wanted to give a voice to the world both newcomers and celebrities alike. He wanted to inspire people and expose them to amazing works of art. In 2014 the Expressionist merged and became “The AME Experience” where television was added and newly branded.
Jason hosts the TV and radio show while being the Senior Editor of the AME Magazine.
